PINK Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl RECIPE: My First Smoothie Bowls, Reworked Pt. 3

Confused? Read the first post in this series, my Beach Day Smoothie Bowl recipe.
Also be sure to check out part two for a wake-up in the form of my Breakfast Smoothie Bowl.

I wanted a smoothie bowl that was as fun as possible. Hmm, things that are fun: Peanut butter... Chocolate... PINK!!!

Pink Peanut Butter Bowl with Fudge Bites

Originally: 1 banana, 3 strawberries, a spoonful of peanut butter. Topped with granola, raisins, and chocolate chips. Was so thick it stuck in my throat, but tasted great.
What I changed: Added liquid so the smoothie was less gloppy. Took out the chocolate chips because they get hard and tasteless when cold. Took out the granola because I just didn't think it fit.  Since I was removing those two elements I wanted to at least hold on to the raisins, so I combined the concept of chewy raisins with deep dark chocolate and ahhhh the result was gobs of fudgy goo. 10/10.

Remade recipe:
Chocolate raisin fudgey bites (If you can think of a better name, please advise. This one reminds me of Pidgey, my second Pokemon ever)
1/4 tsp plant milk
1/4 cup raisins
1 scant tbsp cocoa powder
a pinch of sea salt (optional)
Pink peanut butter smoothie
1 sliced bananas
3 sliced strawberries, plus extra for topping
1 tbsp peanut butter
3 tbsp plant milk
!Note this is a portioned for a big snack/light meal. For a solid meal, double the proportions at least for the smoothie, as well as for the toppings if desired.

Chill your bowl in the fridge or freezer.
Make the fudgey bites: Combine the raisins, 1/4 tsp plant milk, and cocoa powder (and salt if you want) in a small bowl. Pinch the ingredients together with your hands until they form a gooey, fudgey, mass. You can either leave it in one big ball, or pull it apart into whatever size you want.
Make the smoothie: Blend the banana, strawberries, peanut butter, and the rest of the plant milk until smooth.
Pour smoothie into chilled bowl and top with the fudge bites and extra strawberries.

This is a great intro to smoothie bowls because it's beautiful and tastes like a creamy milkshake. If you make it or think of a better name for the chocolate raisin fudgey bites, send me your photos/videos/reviews/enthusiastic comments below, via email, or on Instagram or Facebook.

  • I officially have more posts than followers on @theblerghblog Instagram. I'm trying to incorporate more than just food into my Insta posts, since cooking/foodstyling is just a small part of what I want to share, but I know that a lot of people just follow me for pretty pictures of food. How can I be an ~*inflUenceR*~ if my follower/post ratio is the size of Rhode Island? ... But it doesn't really matter. There's better things to do with your time than Instagram. Like advocate for justice or something (I hear Breonna Taylor's killers haven't been brought to justice yet).
