Stream-of-Consciousness for The Blergh's Third Anniversary

Three years ago today, I opened up Blogger and tapped out my first blog post.

Well, it wasn't my first, per se.  In sixth grade, I had a blog thread that was pretty popular for a week or two on a lovely little site called the Warriorcat Forums.  I frequented the forums in those days, fourth grade being my peak, in which I spent nearly all my free time engulfed in online Warrior cat drama.  They shut down the site this year.  I didn't even know until they had done it.  Even though I haven't seen the forums in a while, they still affect me.  This morning, in a half-awake haze, I constructed a song about the forums that was very Beach-Boys like, complete with high-pitched harmonies and campy organ rhythms.

I learned about stream-of-consciousness this year in history class.  I immediately identified it as how I wrote my early blog posts, even though I haven't read any stream-of-consciousness literature to compare it with.

It's time to go into the depths of The Blergh and review some of those earlier posts for inspiration.

I got distracted.  Did you know that someone made an unofficial Warriorcat Forums?  But I must resist!  I wonder if there are any unofficial Pokémon games you can find online...

I found one.  I hope I don't get a computer virus.

For those of you reading, I promise I do things with my time other than huddle on my couch, surf the web for cat and Pokémon content, and blog about it.  It's just that... I'm entering my second week of summer vacation.  I just woke up from a good nap.  Sometimes, you just gotta do stupid stuff like this.

You must have Flash Player 10 installed to play the Pokémon game.  I do not have Flash Player 10 installed.

I think the new Muse song, Dig Down, is really good.

Part of my hair is purple.  My mom died it for me on the third day of summer vacation.

I found another Pokémon imitation.  My Flash Player is too outdated for this one, too.

Tonight, I'm going to the beach with my family and family friends.  I'm really excited because I think the surf will be good.  I'm not exactly a solid surfer, so I really want the practice.

I just tried to Google "what should I blog about", but encountered two roadblocks: A) My keyboard has some issues so I actually wrote "wha should i lbog about".  B)It's not actually Google, it's Bing.  Sorry, Bing, but Google is just tops.  It just is.

I genuinely hope that this blog is interesting to people other than little kiddos like me.  Deep down, I know it's posts like this that don't make that true.  But they're fun to write.

Woody Allen is really funny.

You know what I would love?  Picture this: a bundle of friends pile into the house.  Spend the afternoon swimming in the pool or river, or waterskiing, or tubing, or canoeing, or some other aquatic, outdoor, active thing.  When the sun begins to dip down into water, we stumble inside, exhausted and sunbaked, we get cleaned up.  As orange summer sunset lights pierce the windows, my friends and parents
HOT TAMALE THE TV'S ON AND A MY LITTLE PONY COMMERCIAL IS ON AND WHO ARE ALL THESE NEW CHARACTERS?!  I DON'T RECOGNIZE ANY OF THEM.
Anywho.  As orange summer sunset lights pierce the windows, friends and parents and I cook dinner(in my mind, it is a veggie coconut curry.  Have I ever told you how much I love curry?).  Dine and laugh and have just a fabulous time and try to stay up late but the day and night weigh our eyelids down and drift asleep, all crammed into one room.
In the morning, filter one by one into the kitchen, quiet and cozy, coffee and tea drinkers and sleepy voices.  Make beautiful smoothie bowls together for breakfast.
Did I mention we've been taking photos the whole time?  Photos of each other, photos of nature and the sun and the water, photos of the food because, as I have said in many occasions, I am practically incapable of consuming something without taking a photo of it first.  Lots of photos, but not so many that we're not in the moment, actively spending time with each other.
Doesn't that sound fantastic?
Also, there's music in the background the whole time.  Gentle indie music, Of Montreal; and oldies but goodies, The Beatles, 80's metal, Heart.

I've been reading this book called Whale Music.  I think it's affecting my writing style.  That's always what happens when I read novels- I adopt aspects of the writing style.  This was great when I was reading The Lord of the Rings for the first time.  It's also why the quality of my writing dipped a little when I first got into manga.  Whale Music has a mix of dreamy run-on sentences and blunt ones decorated with little gems.  I'm crazy about the use of the word "salacious".  It's a sad book, in a way, but I think it will turn out happy, and either way, I'm addicted.  I don't want to put it down, but I also don't want to finish it, y'know?

To quote Calvin(from Calvin and Hobbes, obviously):  By my troth, I am off.

World peace and love,
Heather <3
