I Can't Think of a Title for This Post, How Am I Going to Come Up With 50,000 Interesting Words?

...It's Halloween. You know what that means.

Firstly it means candy and running around neighborhoods screaming and dressing up with massive amounts of purple eyeliner painted artfully across one's face. At least, that's how my Halloween is. Secondly it means tons of SPOOKY. So much SPOOKY.

Thirdly it means November begins tomorrow. And what is November? National Novel Writing Month! I've been preparing for it and talking about it to anyone who will possibly listen for the entirety of October, and yet I don't really have a solid plot or a solid plan.

For those of you who don't know about it, NaNoWriMo is a challenge in which participants try to write 50,000 thousand words in an novel throughout the month of November. It's terrifying. It's brilliant. www.youtube.com/watch?v=78mvUeBw7MM

I'm treading new terrain(that's a thing, right? treading new terrain?) in my genre this year- In the past I've done strictly fantasy, magic and elves and the like. This year, I'm trying mystery. And I have no clue where to start, what to do, how to do it. To cover for that, I'm going to write everything pretty campy. We'll see how that turns out.

Last year, I got caught up in the everything surrounding NaNoWriMo that distracted from it. Finding the perfect writing haven, the best playlist for writing, all the frill and ribbons and none of the actual writing. I'm going to try as hard as I can this year to focus on the 50,000 words and only them.

It doesn't seem like that much. 50,000. Words on a page build up and look like more and more or less and less and it seems like an easy feat. It's not easy. At all. Which is why I'm so enthusiastic about it. To get more motivated, and to motivate the three of you who read this(if you're doing NaNoWriMo, which you should), I'm going to post the latest paragraph of my novel every Sunday of this month. As a drill sergeant would say to a Boy Scout, be prepared.

Happy Halloween, I hope it's seriously SPOOKY! And happy writing!
